Should I take private lessons or group classes?

Private instruction is tailored to the specific needs of your body. Exercises are selected to build and balance weak muscles and modified to accommodate injured or delicate joints. Private instruction is the best way to learn good technique and is particularly important for people who are injured or at risk of injury due to poor fitness. We recommend that all beginning students take at least two private lessons to gain better understanding of the work, and we offer a special introductory package for this purpose. Group instruction is a fun and economical alternative or supplement to private lessons. Group instruction is most appropriate for non-injured people with a moderate to high level of fitness and body awareness. We would be glad to discuss your particular needs and help determine the right Pilates approach for you.
